I have been playing and teaching music (guitar and singing) for the last, oh I don’t know, twenty years now, and I’m definitely getting better at it. This website serves as both a showcase for my work (see ‘Demos’ & ‘Posters’ tabs) and an access point for people who would like private lessons from me (see ‘Teaching’ tab).
I am also a member of the traditional folk band ‘Oak Bell’, about which more information here: Oak Bell – Folk songs from Europe and beyond
What follows is a selection of positive reviews of me as a teacher (of course I’m not publishing the thousands of negative reviews I receive weekly):
École St. Julien:
“Guy spent six months with us, teaching English and Music. He taught children from the ages of three to ten. He was a very enthusiastic and engaging teacher, who seemed to care about each pupil individually. The pupils loved him and he had a definite positive effect on their English and musical skills.”
Pascal Colman:
“I have been learning guitar with Guy for nearly two years now. In that time, I have gone from almost a complete beginner to a competent fingerpicker. Guy is particularly good at tailoring his teaching to exactly what I need. He has a holistic approach to teaching, which involves spending a lot of time on things like ear training, rhythm training and mindset, which are often lacking in other teachers.”
Marieke Müller:
“I have been having singing lessons with Guy for the past year or so. He taught me a lot about breath support and vocal placement: concepts I wasn’t really aware of. He’s also careful to listen carefully when I sing, and build his lessons around my actual voice. I would recommend (and have frequently recommended) him to anyone looking to learn how to sing properly.”
